A Bandage is Not the Solution!

Grown folk know that a bandage is not the solution, is not the cure. No, the bandage is a temporary cover. Sooner or later we will have to clean up the wound, apply the antiseptic, experiece the sting and get rid of any infection. It is not rocket science to realize that sky-high rents and limited options will cause people to make homes in uninhabitable places. Freeze the greed. Make those uninhabitable places habitable. Let justice prevail. Treat people like you would want to be treated.

Dear Lord, thank you for being a refuge in time of trouble. Comfort those who mourn this morning. Help us to choose daily to be a nation that exalts your righteousness, a nation that seeks you first, a nation that bows to your perfect will in every matter. Tenderize our hearts, turn up our compassion, correct our perspective so that we see our neighbors as you see them. Help us to never settle for apathy or fear doing anything you bring to our minds.  Help us to abandon selfishness for good. Check us when we are hearers of your Word and not doers. Let all who come in contact with us see our boldness, our courage and realize that we have been with Jesus. (Acts 4:13) Let us focus up in this hour and always ride under the banner of love. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

A Holiday Note On Unforgiveness

At the heart of many of our blocks to success is a buried root of unforgiveness. That may be just why David ended Psalm 139 with a plea for God to search his heart and get him on a better path. (Psalm 139:23-24)

For sure God can lead us out but we have to be willing to follow His direction step by step.

Forgiveness is not easy and it is a process but taking that first step is more freeing than you could possibly imagine.

Don't let the end of the year catch you without taking that first step.
