Twas the Tuesday before Christmas and all through the house......

It’s Healing Tuesday and my worship is for real. When I think of worship I think of a courtship that hits the mark. It’s a chase, a courting for as long as it takes and then the victory and then the celebration because of the victory. I am convinced that the man who would succeed in capturing my heart today would have need of the Holy Spirit to court me cause I am a daughter of the most high God and kind of particular. The man would have to consult the Lord about all the little details that would be pleasing to me. He’d have to ask the Lord how to get my attention and then he’d have to be attentive. He would do well to read my books and get a good sense of how I think and well acquainted with the causes I care about. He would have to invest time in getting to know me and to love being in my presence just because. He’d have to make such an impression on me that I would find myself talking about him and singing his praises all the time. Before long I would reciprocate and even attempt to outdo him in the area of discovering what it takes to please him and doing that often…..And so on and so on and so on. So, as I think about worship I think about a moment by moment opportunity to chase and court my God. I don’t know everything about Him so I have to read His book consistently. I have to, just have to spend time in His presence, and I have to do what it takes to get His attention and to be attentive always. I daily have to invest time in getting to know the little things that please Him. Then I have to do those things consistently. Even when my life gets busy and the demands are many I still have to, have to make time for Him. He is my King after all. Now somebody say Amen. (For courting scriptures and other matters related to successful living in Christ, why not hop over to Amazon books and bless your own self with a copy of The Way of Salvation and/or The Way of The Holy Spirit (both on Kindle ready for download now.) http://amzn.com/e/B0076ZX7W0

Twas the Monday Before Christmas and all through the house...

The world calls today Manic Monday. I hear a different sound- a sound from heaven. I hear the sound of rejoicing with great expectation. There is a sound of celebration brewing in my spirit. My heart is rejoicing with great anticipation. I hear the sound of healing and I know that my Christ comes with healing in His wings. I woke up this morning with my mind stayed on Jesus. I choose to worship Him who is my God and King on this day the world refers to as Manic Monday. How about a sweeping clean of all things in me that are not like Him and a fresh deposit of a little more Jesus. Less of me and more of Him. How’s that for an act of worship. I stand in awe and choose to worship with great expectation the one who was born to die. Imagine that. My God and King took time out of His busy day to come down here and take on the form of a servant and put on human clothes—swaddling clothes at that—for me. Wait though, even before that essential loving act of dying on the cross, He loved me enough to die daily to all those natural human reactions to the insults and injuries and the disrespecting and the assassinations of His character and the physical and the mental abuses. A little stripe here, a little stripe there daily all the way to the cross for my healing. It is by those stripes that I am healed you see. Not just at the cross but the stripes that come from humbling His self and making his daily preoccupation, making His daily meat and drink to do the will of God. It was Jesus who said “Not my will but thy will be done” in Luke 22:42 and the will of God just happened to be –die for your sins and mine. So wherever you are recognize that manic is defined as ‘inclined to madness’-is all about being frantic, agitated and frenzied. Does that sound like a fitting time of preparation for celebrating the birth of one who was born to take the stripes and die for you and me? “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 Resist the mania. Instead embrace wor-ship (the state of declaring with our lips and hips the worth of our God and King). Expect healing. Speak it. Today is HEALING MONDAY and our Mighty God is worthy of all worship, honor and praise today and forever more, Amen. New Audio Version of “The Way of Salvation: Getting Started with Jesus Christ” Released!

PRESS RELEASE FROM: Soul Shaping Publications, Hayward, CA 94544, USA www.bencouraged.net CONTACT: Teirrah McNair, Chief Encouragement Officer, 415.908.6711 soulswin@aol.com FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New Audio Version of “The Way of Salvation: Getting Started with Jesus Christ” Released! Soul Shaping Publications today announces the release of the audio version of “The Way of Salvation: Getting Started with Jesus Christ”, an excellent work that is set to impact the world for Christ and encourage successful living. Link: http://amzn.com/B00HFSIH7I According to a Soul Shaping Publications spokesperson, this is their very first audio book for Amazon’s Audible.com. “If I were a traveling salesperson, I would hand deliver this message to zillions of people a day. Audio delivery is faster and will save me a whole bunch of steps,” says one reviewer of “The Way of Salvation: Getting Started with Jesus Christ”, which is one of the first of many audio titles. Arguing that Christians, especially new ones, need a “right now tool” to demystify the born again experience and to make those first steps in Christ doable, Teirrah McNair, Chief Encouragement Officer, also noted that seasoned Christians, as well as, churches will find that The Way of Salvation will facilitate a mature way to discipleship. “As I think back, I remember doing pre-freshman orientation programs for incoming high schoolers and later for incoming college students. The stakes are higher here but the principle is the same. People need all the resources they can get to be all they can be in Christ. This book makes it real simple,” said author Teirrah, a dedicated people builder with unstoppable energy and an outrageous sense of humor and the winner of the Indies Unlimited Flash Fiction Contest, as well as, the Western Access Video Excellence (W.A.V.E.) award. Considered a comfort food for new believers, The Way of Salvation serves up a message that’s garnished with tender loving care and designed to break down salvation basics into easily digestible bites. Whether on the road speaking or in the San Francisco Bay Area where she serves as Associate Pastor for God's Hand Extended Christian Fellowship in Dublin, McNair sees herself as being on a mission to equip her audience with well-crafted strategies for successful living. Many of those strategies are included in her rapidly growing list of book titles that Soul Shaping Publications has been churning out. McNair writes for two audiences, adult and children. Adult titles include” "The Way of Salvation", "The Way of the Holy Spirit: How Sweet it is to be Led by Him" and “March Madness Revisited”. The titles for children include: "Lucille Nadine Alexander's Birthday" and "The Adventures of Martin Tyrone Sanchez Dupree". Pastor McNair is also a prolific blogger at www.bencouraged.net. Watch your mouth!

Join me on a glory fast today. The instructions are simple. If it doesn't bring God glory it won't come out of my mouth. Now, here's my prayer. Dear Lord, please give me the grace to use my tongue for the purpose you intended--to be a blessing to you and to all I meet. Help me to check myself (muzzle up) before the words that discourage or speak negatively about myself, or your creation anywhere come out. Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight I pray. And at the end of this day Lord let me be guilty of praising and blessing and thanking you with all that is within me. Let somebody somewhere be encouraged because of something I said. In Jesus name I pray. Amen (It's a Psalm 50:23, Psalm 34:1, James 3:6-10, Psalms 19:14 kind of morning) Now somebody say Amen and share!

Thanking God for His Glory!

Dare you to do a glory check. Take a good look around you and in you and you will see evidence that says 'now that had to be God'. I'm sitting on the edge of my bed completely insulated, protected from the elements. I slept well last night. That’s the glory of God. He didn’t just keep me through the night. He kept me warm and protected, even comfortable. The scene could have been different. I could have had to sleep in my car with one eye open and teeth shivering. I could have spent the night tossing and turning and searching for a position that wouldn’t cramp my neck or stiffen my back. I could have gone to bed hungry and had to listen to a symphony of growls in my stomach. I could have slept under a bench last night, could have gone to bed last night and not awakened at all but not so. I see His glory in everything. The earth is full of God’s glory. I see His glory in gorgeous mountaintops, and phenomenal cloud formations, the way the sun hits a body of water just so I can see my reflection. I see God’s glory in my resting and in my moving. I see God’s glory –proof of His presence, His goodness, His power in everything. I see His glory at my address and in my biography because there is no way I would be here today if it were not for the goodness of God. The fact that I can sit here on the edge of my bed and think and write with clarity and sanity has to be God. I am overwhelmed by His manifest glory in my life and in my environment. He didn’t just keep me last night, He kept me all those years when I was trying to live without His keeping, trying to be free, grown, 21, large and in charge, trashing body and mind---getting the same sorry results from making the same tore up God-free decisions, yet He kept me just like He kept me last night. The earth is full of the glory of God and wherever I go, whatever I do I just want to be so in sync with God’s plan that there is evidence of His glory in my life. That’s my part in the big picture and I make a conscious choice to cooperate and agree with His plan and His timing for the day. I choose to let Him use me to deposit a little more of His glory in the earth with everything I say and do. What about you? 4

New DVD Version of Children’s Storybook “Lucille Nadine Alexander’s Birthday” Released!

PRESS RELEASE New DVD Version of Children’s Storybook “Lucille Nadine Alexander’s Birthday” Released!
Hayward, California, USA — Soul Shaping Publications (SSP), the Hayward based inspirational publisher announced today the release of the talking storybook DVD- Lucille Nadine Alexander’s Birthday written by Teirrah McNair, illustrated by Eric L. Ward with video production by Adrion Anderson of Miracle Media. Although other popular characters created for children are well received in their varying shapes and sizes, Lucille is an urban, bronze- colored little girl that kids naturally relate to and love. In the beginning there was the storybook, now the book is on DVD and children can read along with Lucille. Seven year old Lucille Nadine Alexander shares her birthday with Jesus Christ and wants a celebration that will do both of them justice. Lucille Nadine Alexander’s Birthday is a re-telling of the nativity story from a unique perspective--unique because Lucille is not your average 7 year old. She is disarmingly honest and presents this most important story in a way that kids truly understand on their level. Even the shyest of children identify with and root for her. Parents who are protective about what their kids watch and read appreciate Lucille as a trustworthy role model who inspires, teaches and tickles.
Nancy Hird from the online blog ‘Books 4 Christian Kids’ describes the storybook as “a gem that captures the wonder and excitement of a God-event. The story helps the child-listener see “why” we celebrate this holiday and “why” we tell this story.” Lucille was originally created as one of the many characters McNair penned and brought to life in theatrical productions and was so well received by adults and children alike, McNair decided it was time Lucille Nadine had a life outside the theater. Author McNair is the Associate Pastor at God’s Hand Extended Christian Fellowship in Dublin, California and an educator with a host of credits in the entertainment industry. San Francisco based illustrator, Eric L. Ward is a perfect match for McNair’s impressive imagination. Ward’s drawings of Lucille and her world bring to life her character and attitude. Videographer Adrion Anderson is a rapidly rising multi media whiz who has caught the vision and is running with it with great panache. Lucille Nadine Alexander’s Birthday on DVD and the book can be purchased online at www.bencouraged.net and at select bookstores in the USA. The storybook is also available on Amazon.com. Author signings, interviews and appearances can be arranged by calling 415 908-6711. Lucille’s official trailer can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgRn-FnsVLw For more information about Lucille Nadine and other titles in the Soul Shaping collection visit www.bencouraged.net, email revtmcnair@gmail.com or call 415-908-6711

William McDowell Place of Worship

William McDowell - All I Want Is You

Worship--Just do it!

Worship...just do it. Declare God's worth in words and in actions. Worship. Break it down--WOR---SHIP. Let the WOR inspire you to declare God's worth in good times and in trying times. Let the SHIP represent the way you 'roll' and remember who is Captain. Storms will come but if we have genuinely made Jesus our Captain and we are rolling as He directs, then He's got us. Remember that He can speak to the winds and the waves and they WILL obey. (Matthew 8:23-27) Be like the winds and the waves. Obey God's voice. And let no thing or no person distract you. Keep your eyes on Him, who is our Saviour, God, King, our Captain. Just worship. “Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O LORD, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things” (1 Chronicles 29:11, NLT). Let all the worshippers and the about-to-be worshippers say Amen!

Dear God, Take Over This Place!

According to ABC News---HEAT ADVISORY! Today will be the hottest day of the week in the San Francisco Bay Area. Highs will be 19° to 23° warmer than average. Thank you God for the sun and the Son. Thank you for another opportunity to praise your glorious name. Lord, in Psalm 148 you said all creation—fire, hail, snow, stormy winds, beasts, kings, priests, judges and all the people fulfill your word and praise your name. Count me and my halleluia in that number today. Father, I pray that the precious purifying fire of the Holy Spirit will catch hold of our hearts and do a mighty cleansing work today. Lord, create in us clean hearts first and then do a work in our families, neighborhoods, states and nations. Lord, cause us to decrease so that you may increase in us. We acknowledge that above all today, what the world needs is more of you Lord. May our every decision, every interaction today reflect the wisdom of your holy Word. Give us the courage and the common sense to invite you into those areas we are weak in. Prosper us in our minds, will and emotions today so that we might prosper and be in good health. As sickness of body and mind rages in this hour help us to remember the benefits of those stripes you took at Calvary. Even as the sun looms large today Lord help us to get our focus on the Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior, our Lord and King. Whatever the weather, wherever we are, we choose today to be more thankful than ever and to bless you with all that is within us. As the song says, take over this place. Take over our hearts, take over our cities and do that cleansing work in Jesus name I pray. Amen http://youtu.be/8Jko5zUAuBI

Live It

Live It

Choose What Is Better by Sarah Martin

Every new week, every new day and even sometimes every new minute we have a choice to make...to chose what is better. We have the opportunity to chose the better way to react to stress or adversity. We have the opportunity to chose the better way to speak when tempted with harsh words. We have the opportunity to chose the better way to think by not allowing our mind to take us to dark placese of anger, jealous, guilt.
We also have the awesome opportunity to chose what is better in how we live out our faith and live out our relationship with Jesus.
In the Bible you might be familiar with the sweet sisters Mary and Martha. Both of these women loved the Lord...no doubt. Both enjoyed serving Him...no doubt. But only one of them chose what is better...Mary.
Take a peek into the house of Mary and Martha as Jesus and His disciples gathered to worship and hear teaching.
But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:40-42 NIV)
You may or may not have read a ton of devotions or heard many sermons on the story of Mary and Martha. But, before we start to dog on Martha and chide her for not choosing what is better, let us remember that there is a time and place (very important!) to physically serve Jesus. When we make the choice to love others by serving them, we are in fact, worshiping the very King of the Universe. Martha has a servants heart. But, sometimes that servants heart needs to put down the pots and pans, throw in the towel and just chose what is better...sitting at the feet of Jesus.
My encouragement to you for today is to...
Choose to put your smart phone on silent, get in a quiet frame of mind and talk to your Lord in prayer.
Choose to set aside your to-do list, or better yet-hand that to-do list over to Him and open your Bible to take part in God's holy Word.
Choose to spend your drive time today with worship music as you hand over your personal agenda and release your life to the One who is more than capable of handling your stress.

May we choose what is better and cling to the promise given in the book of Luke which says that our "what is better" will not be taken away from us. Straight from the words of Jesus, God promises that if we choose Him over all else, His divine, peace-filled presence will be with us.
How will you chose what is better today?

Amazon ImageFuel For The Soul: 21 Devotionals That Nourish by CJ Hitz
It’s been said that it takes 21 days to form a habit. I don’t know about you but it sure seems difficult to break the bad habits and keep the good ones going. You may have several good habits you’ve formed in your life that have become second nature to you.
For me, running has become one such habit. What started out as a legitimate way to lose some extra pounds and help speed up my metabolism eventually turned into my favorite sport and primary outlet for competition. The daily run is something I look forward to as it leaves me feeling energized and full of life.
If you’re not a runner, you might not be familiar with something called an energy gel. These are little 100 calorie packets of mainly carbohydrates. Brand names include GU, Clif Shot, Hammer, and Stinger to name a few. They are a simple, easy-to-digest form of fuel. I’ve had several instances where I felt low on energy while out on a training run or in a race but then felt an energy surge after consuming one of these little guys. It’s amazing what a difference just 100 calories can make.
It’s my hope that these 21 days of devotions will serve as an “energy gel” or fuel for your soul. They’re meant to be quick yet powerful and thought-provoking no matter what time of day you prefer to read (eat) them.

Amazon ImageBody Image Lies Women Believe by Shelley Hitz
Are you insecure about your looks? Have you ever compared yourself to someone else and found yourself wanting? Do complements or put downs determine the image you have of your beauty?
Throughout this book, Christian women share their stories of how they have struggled with body image lies and a distorted view of themselves. However, each of their stories also contains hope – the hope of replacing these lies with God’s truth. Our prayer for you is that you find encouragement within these pages and allow Christ to transform you with His truth.
God has created each one of us with unique abilities, unique talents and a unique personality. As women we are influencers and God has given us that role and our beauty to share with others. Yet so often we settle for a counterfeit. The enemy has counterfeited our idea of beauty, convincing us to share our beauty with the world in a distorted way. Today that often means that we see our beauty as what we look like on the outside.

Amazon Image My Treasure  by Heather Bixler
There are plenty of Christian resources out there telling us how to manage our money. From budgeting, to couponing, to saving, to investing, (there are numerous) books, courses, and blogs available for all Christians to learn how to steward their money to better honor and glorify the Lord.
I think these resources are amazing and have often used them in my own life in order to become debt free and learn how to better manage my family’s finances. But one burning question always entered into my mind as I began to budget, coupon, and bring down my debt – what’s the point? my heart still struggled daily with greed and fear when it came to money.
In this four week mini Bible Study, we are not going to examine how to manage our money. Instead we are going to examine our heart towards money. One thing I have learned when it comes to money is this, it’s really not about HOW much money you have that will determine whether you are broke or rich, it’s WHERE your heart is towards God and towards money.

Amazon ImageHoliness Revealed by Lara Velez
But just as He Who called you is holy, so be holy in all your conduct and manner of living; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” – 1 Peter 1:15-16The word “holy” seems to be completely insane and utterly unattainable at first glance. It can also make many cringe at the mere mention of it. In today’s culture, the words: “holiness” and “holy” sound like something out of the dark ages–or at the very least, words spoken by some overzealous religious lunatic.
Thankfully, being holy is not crazy, “old fashioned thinking” or unattainable! It is what we are called to, and if God calls us to it, then He will make a way for us to walk in it!
