Grace is always on a roll.
Always meeting up with me, coming around corners and
Popping up at unexpected times.
Now don't get it twisted. I am grateful for Grace.
If it weren't for Grace, I don't know where I'd be.
Strung out...dead...treadmilling, you know, stepping high & fast but going nowhere.
Maybe I'd be pushing a shopping cart on MacArthur Blvd. or in the Tenderloin,
passing out 'I'm blind, help my cause, business cards'--looking for donations...
Thank God for Grace.
One of my favorite Grace stories is the night Grace showed up at Highland Hospital pharmacy. I was sick and in excruciating pain. One of my ministry team helpers, Samantha, brought me to E.R. and then to the pharmacy to get my medication. I couldn't sit, stand, or move. The pain was unbearable.
Samantha turned the prescription in and got number 96. The room was packed. They were on number 29 and said to expect at least an hour and a half wait, maybe longer.
I was in too much pain to even react.
I couldn't say words, just had the good sense to breathe 'thank you Jesus' and closed my eyes.
Seemed like just as I put my head on my lap, I heard Samantha holler, O my God. Thank you Jesus.
I raised my head up and there on the electronic board was my number 96 flashing.
People looked all crazy at Samantha and I as we exited with medication in hand.
Do you know that that extraordinary favor was not my fault?
It was Grace popping up on my behalf.
You see, I belong to God. I'm a C.O.G (child of God ala John 1:12) and
the same grace that saved me (Acts 15:11) is constant.
Grace pops up at the most unexpected times, just because.
I did not earn it. I did not work for it.
Grace is God's gift because I belong to Him.
Now that's something to be thankful for.
Thank God for Grace!
